The Patchy Block academic center is a modern and sleek building that integrates seamlessly into the urban context. The building is composed of large precast concrete panels that have inset glass expressions, creating a dynamic and visually interesting façade. The ground floor of the building features significant glazing, which establishes a transparent relationship with the city and brings natural light into the building's interior spaces.
One of the standout features of the Patchy Block academic center is its series of inset areas that have balconies, providing an amenity for the users and creating a unique outdoor experience. The building's rectangular form is solid, but it includes thick, rigid insulation in the middle of the precast concrete panels, improving the energy efficiency of the building and reducing its environmental impact.
The communal stair connects the second-floor classroom areas to the ground floor, providing a practical and efficient way for students and faculty to move throughout the building. Additionally, a mezzanine level overlooks the ground floor, maintaining the relationship to the street and creating an open and collaborative environment for learning and research. The Patchy Block academic center is a modern and functional building that is sure to be a valuable addition to the academic community.
